J.A. Belfield Bends the Rules?!? #Caged BlogTour Plus #Giveaway #PNR

Thrilled to be hosting one of my fav authors, J.A. Belfield, on her Caged blog tour! Of course I just HAD to have a tens list of her fav book boyfriends because she knows how to write a kick@$$ lovable, sexy character herself AND she reads like a fiend. I can always count on her to point me in the direction of a book that'll keep me up past midnight.

But enough of my rambling - waffling as she'd say. Let's take a look at the purdies (Ethan *swoon*) and hear what Ms. Belfield has to say ...

Oh wait. HERE is my 5* review, and here's a tidbit of what I thought of Caged:

"I just want you all to know that for a prego woman to sit on the couch from 9pm until midnight without getting up ONE SINGLE TIME to visit the bathroom is epic."  - Me

Caged

Release Date: August 5, 2013
Target Reader: Adult
Keywords: Romantic, Urban Fantasy, Werewolf

If the meek can become deadly, the strongest can be weak.
For Ethan Holloway, his mission to find a missing werewolf should be simple. Crack a few heads, bust a few chops and the solution always reveals itself. Always.
Not this time.
Ethan’s reputation precedes him, and because it does, someone is ready. Waiting. Unbeknownst to Ethan, he’s about to go down. Hard. Against a foe he never suspected and in a world he never imagined could be real.
What awaits Ethan is a fight not only for his reputation, but also his pack, his female, and his life. If he survives, damage control will become priority number one.
If he survives.
Because even Ethan’s not sure he’s strong enough to take on an entire race all by himself.
Especially one hell bent on exposing who and what he is in the name of sport.

Top 10 Book Boyfriends

When Terri asked me to do a Ten’s List of Book Boyfriends, I thought: Piece o’ cake!

O_o

How naive was I?

Do you guys have any idea how difficult it is to narrow this down?

Yeah, you probably do. ;)

Anyway, I gave it my best shot. Knocked out my first few. Those were the easy ones. The ones where I still had 6 or 5 or 4 spots left to fill. Then I had 3 slots, then 2 ... and finally only one. It was choosing who would get to claim that final spot that was the killer. Trust me—I even sat on the ruling for a good few days. And the list below is who I came up with.

Though, to keep the sanity I’d lose if I had to choose between THEM, they are named in no particular order—because it was simply too much to compare my love of these guys. Check ‘em out.

1.  Lirium (Susan Kaye Quinn’s Debt Collector series)

I am so stupidly in love with this tortured soul, it’s ... well, stupid. I adore him. Even with every one of his flaws and crazy mistakes. He is my anchor back into reading when I go through a run of ‘unable to connect’s—guaranteed, he will re-rock my groove.

2.  Noah Hutchins (Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry)

Dude! If you’ve read PtL, then you’ll know what I’m saying here. Noah is strong, caring, considerate, rough around the edges with a few issues of his own he has to battle, HOT ... and I LOVED him.

3.  Tripp Fox (Aimee Laine’s Hide & Seek)

*sigh* Tripp Fox. I first read Hide & Seek as an early draft way back in 2010. I fell in love with Tripp Fox then. He still holds a piece of my heart even now. He is perfection ... and a little bit naughty. ;)

4.  Chris Merrick (Brigid Kemmerer’s Storm)

Okay, truth be told, ANY of the Merrick Brothers could have earned themselves a slot here in my top 10—especially as I change my mind about who I love most with each of their books that I read. However, Chris’s book came first, and it blew me away, and as Chris Merrick is the one responsible for first capturing me hook, line & sinker, and ensuring I wanted to read on to meet the rest of the brothers in more depth, he wins!

5.  Clay Danvers (Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld series)

If you’re a KA fan, need I say more? Clay is like the taboo alpha male. The kind that, if you met him in real life, you’d drool over him but then scarper the second he opened his mouth. Yet, for some reason, what we deem acceptable in RL and what we’re willing to accept in our fictional males are nowhere near in the same ball park. Love his rudeness and attitude, and transparency, and very animalistic nature. He’s da wolf!

6.  Rehv (J.R. Ward’s Lover Avenged)

The BDB (Black Dagger Brotherhood) is my guilty pleasure. I could probably choose a good few from this series, but I’m trying to be frugal in my pickings, and so I’ve narrowed it down to Rhev. Was his book my favourite of the series? No, actually. However, I LOVED HIM! He has a few ‘special qualities’ I’d most probably be too pansified to ‘investigate’, if ever I met him in the dark corner of his club, but reading about them? Hot diggety dang! ;)

7.  Hunter (Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Obsession)

Dude! I fell in love with an ARUM! Everyone who takes note of my reading habits will know I fell in love with JLA’s character Daemon Black from the Lux series (which Obsession is a spin-off from). I LOVE strong snark in a male character, and DB has a lot of that. I also seem to have a bit of a thing for arrogance. I never really care who their snark and arrogance is aimed at so long as it’s delivered in a witty manner and makes me laugh. Again: this is Daemon Black. And then I met Hunter. He’s hot enough and MALE enough to send Daemon Black scuttling to the kiddies pool—because the big boy pond is ALL his.

8.  Kane Walker (Keri Lake’s Soul Avenged)

I have a ‘thing’ for anything even remotely were-animal, which includes shapeshifters and lycans galore. And the originality of getting to ‘watch’ Kane’s transition from bitten human to the end result allows a connection with this character on a whole level of its own. It also has a far greater impact when we finally get to see his transformation and how that ‘changes’ him on the inside. Plus, two words: Cave. Scene.

9.  Four (Divergent by Veronica Roth)

It’s been a decent while since I read this first in the trilogy. But one of the things that remains with clarity in my mind is just how much I tweeted about this dude as I met hom in my following along of Tris’s journey. I fell in love with him from the off, and I still loved him at the end. He’s cool, he’s tough, he’s loyal & caring, he’s fearless, and he’s HOT!

10.  Cade (Cora Carmack’s Faking It)

I have a confession to make. Up until around 3 days ago, I had every intention of giving this final spot to Garrick from Cora’s first in this series: Losing It. But then I read its sequel. And Cade stole Garrick’s thunder like Thor on a bender. From the word go, Ms Carmack ensures the reader connects with and feels for this dude. So, I wanted his HEA. And the fact the author makes him work for it, and he did so with bells on, just made me love him all the more. He’s fun & HOT & caring & considerate & strong & HOT & simply just Cade. Possibly the fact that he’s still so fresh in my mind is helping me make gooey faces even as I write his name. Cade *gooey face* Cade *flutters lashes* ... You get it yet?

So, there you have it. My Top 10 of Book Boyfriends.

BUUUUUUUT hold it right there.

Because this is MY post. So I get to bend the rules a little, right?
That’s what I thought.

You see, when I mentioned my struggle with narrowing these down on Facebook, a reader of my stuff said: I hope you’ll be including one of the Pack in there.

Well, truth was ... I wasn’t—because I wanted my choices to be a reflection of books that I’ve loved to read. However, she did make me question if I should choose my favourite from my own created ‘boys’. And I decided Yes!

So, here’s my bonus entry on my list of favourite book boyfriends:

11. Sean Holloway!
Surprise you? Thought it would be Ethan? Truthfully, my favourite often tends to be whoever I’m currently writing, but no matter which of the Holloway Pack members I’m highlighting at any given time, Sean is ALWAYS somewhere in my mind, always present, always trying to have his say. This dude holds my heart, for sure.

Thanks for reading!

One day, a character and scene popped into J. A. Belfield’s head, and she started controlling the little people inside her imagination, as though she were the puppet master and they her toys. Questions arose: What would happen if …? How would they react if …? Who would they meet if …?
Before she knew it, a singular scene had become an entire movie. The characters she controlled began to hold conversations. Their actions reflected the personalities she bestowed upon them. Within no time, they had a life, a lover, a foe, family … they had Become.
One day, she wrote down her thoughts. She’s yet to stop.
J. A. Belfield lives in Solihull, England, with her husband, two children, four cats and a dog. She writes paranormal romance, with a second love for urban fantasy.
She also book blogs over at Bookaroo-Ju.
Stalk her!
